Description
Used in our Model A Neck Turning Tool, these stainless steel Neck Turning Mandrels are sized to work in conjunction with PMA Expanding Mandrels. Our mandrels are also properly sized to work with expander mandrels from Sinclair and will work with all neck turning tools that accept 3/8” shank turning mandrels, including all Sinclair and 21st Century Shooting neck turning tools.
Most importantly, our stainless mandrels are precision turned from 17-4 stainless steel, the same grade of stainless used in the medical and aerospace industries. A 17-4 stainless mandrel offers the best combination of properties available in a stainless steel: strength, hardness and corrosion resistance. These properties combine to give you a stable mandrel that will not change dimension with heat and will not scratch or embed grit.

.306 neck turning mandrel
No finish issues with mine. It’s at least as good as the .307 mandrel I already had. I haven’t used this for neck turning yet. I have used it for opening up new brass when the .307 was too big for the ID of my brass. Works perfectly as s sizing mandrel. No galling issues when using Redding dry neck Lube and their ceramic media.

I bought the neck turning tool for 8.6 blackout, but have a couple hunting rifles chambered in 308.

needs better finish
Regardless of lube used the stainless steel mandrel was galling the necks on my brass, tried polishing with some improvement still not happy, this mandrel was replaced by a Carbide mandrel and all is well.
