Description

Will work with nearly all 22 cal centerfire cartridges.

If you reload, inevitably you are going to need to pull a few bullets from time to time. This has been a chore for a long time, requiring you to remove your loading die from your press and use a plier type bullet puller or pull them in an even less savory method.

Based on the original designs by Charlie Hood, the idea for this bullet puller came from a very good friend and customer John Crawford. In one of our many conversations John had mentioned a very good bullet puller that he had made that eliminated the need for pliers or a press. This bullet puller is one piece and completely self-contained. With his permission we started making them and they are available now.

To use the bullet puller simply drop the loaded or dummy cartridge into the false chamber, tighten the clamp on the bullet, and back out the false chamber by unscrewing it from the main body. A few rotations and the bullet is free from the case. Loosen the clamp and the bullet drops free. The bullet comes out undamaged.

While bullets are undamaged, PMA does not recommend shooting pulled bullets on record targets.

Perfect for the occasional need we all have and soo much easier than the hammer device, and less cost than the die. Easy on the bullet too, easier than the die puller IMO. I have no reservations re using the pulled bullet. I'm a XTC competitor thou, not an F Class guy, just FYI.

    .22 Cal Bullet Puller

Posted by Rick Humphreys on 16th Apr 2021

I saw these for sale and it really looked like an item I could use. I hate taking loaded rounds apart and this seemed like a good tool for the job. I would have given it 5 stars, but truth is it doesn't work very well on factory loaded ammunition. I discovered that the clamping section of this tool would slide off the bullet of factory ammunition. My fix for this was to put some rosin on the bullet which gave the clamp more grip to pull the bullet. I also discovered if I put the loaded round in a bullet seater die and pushed it in a few thou that that would break the seal between the bullet and the case neck and allow me to spin the bullet out. None of this takes away from the fact this is a great little tool for pulling bullets without making a mess especially if you don't have a lot of rounds to take apart. FYI, I ran into the same problem after I bought the same tool for taking .30 cal rounds apart and the same "fix" was applied. Rick H.

This line of tools if well thought out and designed. They function flawlessly and manufactured in an esthetically appealing manner. Really appreciated that each tool is caliber specific and not reliant upon inserts
